According to goldendomer, it sounds like Navy and USC

are a must game for Notre Dame. However, Stanford is a new rivalry or renewed rivalry (depending on how you look at it). The Notre Dame-Stanford series isn't quite as established as the other rivalries. I mean the series does have several gaps (1926-1941, 1943-1962, and 1965-1987) where they didn't play each other. So I am not sure how strong of a "must game" it is on their schedule.

As far as exposure in Cali goes, I believe goldendomer either suggested or agreed with the idea of turning the USC-Notre Dame series into a neutral site game. By doing that then the game could always be played and even rotate among the LA Coliseum, Rose Bowl, Qualcom Stadium in San Diego, Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, and even the Oakland Coliseum. Notre Dame would get its annual game in Cali and still be able to free up 1 OOC slot.
